Are you someone who loves the shine of a diamond? If that is the case, you will be happy to know that there is an alternative to a lovely, expensive diamond.
What Is the Best Diamond Alternative on the Market?
If you want all of the qualities of a diamond with a lower price point, the best alternative on the market is lab-made diamonds.
The hue of a lab-made diamond is identical to that of its counterpart and graded in the same way that a natural diamond is. Diamonds, which have the maximum hardness of any gem, are formed entirely of carbon and have the same amount of shine, whether they are mined or lab-created.
How Are Lab-Made Diamonds Created?
There are two processes used to create diamonds in a lab. The first is called High Pressure - High Temperature. In this process, a diamond seed combines with carbon. A press then simulates an environment with high heat and temperature. The carbon melts around the diamond seed and creates a large diamond.
The second process used to create a diamond is called Chemical Vapor Deposition. In this process, a diamond seed, regularly made from High Pressure - High Temperature, is placed into a heat chamber. The chamber releases a gas with a high concentration of carbon. The carbon starts to stick to the diamond seed and eventually crystallizes.
Why Is a Lab-Made Diamond the Better Alternative?
It all comes down to pricing and size. When purchasing a lab-made diamond, you can get a bigger size for a fraction of the price of what a natural diamond would cost you. You can get them in any pretty colors you want. They also come in the same cut as a natural diamond because, as mentioned before, they are real diamonds. The lab-created diamonds get sent to a gem lab to get graded and receive a certification.
Basically, you are getting all of the benefits of a natural diamond with a lower price point. If you want to know more about diamond alternatives, you can use this contact us page to speak to an expert.
